Does Your Commercial Septic System Need to Be Pumped?
One question we hear a lot from commercial business owners is: “How do I know when my septic system needs to be pumped?” This is a great question, especially because commercial businesses–which get more traffic, and therefore more use of the plumbing and septic system than do homes–typically require more frequent pumping. How often your septic system needs to be pumped depends on a lot of different factors, including how many people are using water (i.e. how much business you’re doing), and how the septic system is being used and what’s entering it. We can assess your septic system on a regular basis to determine levels of sludge and scum, as well as inspect system pipes, mechanisms, and your drainfield.
That being said, if it has been more than a couple of years since you last had your septic system pumped, particularly if your septic system is heavily used, we strongly recommend that you call us for a septic health assessment as soon as possible. If a septic emergency occurs due to improper septic maintenance, you could be looking at hundreds or thousands’ of dollars worth of repairs.
